Orbis Electric designs and builds modular clean power systems where power density and heat are the limiting factors. We focus on unlocking higher performance, greater efficiency, and lower total cost by engineering power delivery and thermal management as a unified, system level platform designed to scale globally.
Our approach is platform based, not bespoke. HaloDrive™ is the foundation of our modular architecture, enabling configurable power and thermal systems that simplify integration, improve reliability, and support repeatable deployment across demanding applications including electric mobility, defense, and data center infrastructure.
Based in Santa Rosa, California, Orbis Electric is led by a collaborative team of engineers and industry experts with deep experience in power electronics, thermal engineering, mechanical design, and controls. Together, we translate breakthrough performance into practical, manufacturable solutions that advance global electrification at scale.

Marcus Hays Founder, CEO + CTO
Marcus is a visionary EV pioneer whose record-setting EVs and groundbreaking designs have helped shape the future of clean mobility. Marcus is an electric vehicle veteran, dating back to the early days of the influential CALSTART Advanced Transportation Hatchery in Burbank, CA. He holds multiple patents in electric vehicle powertrains, related automotive components, and clean-power technologies. Marcus designed and built the first electric motorcycle to set two land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats (2006 & 2007) and races electric cars in his spare time. Andy Coan
Andy brings more than 25 years of experience in technology and telecommunications, with a career focused on sales leadership, channel development, and business growth. He is the Founder, President, and CEO of Splice Communications, where he has led strategic direction, operations, and customer engagement across enterprise and service-provider markets.
Andy has a proven track record of building high-performing commercial teams, driving revenue growth, and cultivating strong relationships with carriers, technology partners, and enterprise customers. Known for his collaborative and pragmatic leadership style, he brings deep expertise in aligning sales strategy with operational execution in fast-moving technology markets.
Dr. Detlev Mohr Detlev brings over 30 years of global strategy and leadership experience as a former Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and trusted advisor to CEOs, boards, and private equity firms. During his 32-year tenure at McKinsey, he led the firm’s Transportation, Travel, Logistics & Infrastructure Practice globally and the European Automotive & Assembly Practice, advising leading industrial and technology companies worldwide.

Sanjeev Khanna Sanjeev Sanjeev brings more than 25 years of global operations, sales, and supply-chain leadership experience across major technology enterprises. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Caddis Cloud Solutions and holds multiple strategic advisory roles.
Previously, Sanjeev was Vice President of EMEA Cloud Sales at Oracle, where he led regional cloud growth, datacenter investment strategy, and the launch of major cloud platforms including Oracle Dedicated Region Cloud@Customer, Oracle Alloy, and the EU-Oracle Sovereign Cloud. He also played a central role in Oracle’s global cloud datacenter expansion, overseeing dozens of region launches worldwide.

Scott A. Stein
Scott brings more than 35 years of experience in data center strategy, site selection, and mission-critical operations. His career spans large-scale technical operations, infrastructure planning, and lifecycle management of complex data center portfolios.
Scott has led initiatives across site evaluation, acquisition, design, commissioning, and long-term operations, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and risk management. Known for his pragmatic, hands-on leadership style, he brings deep operational expertise in aligning physical infrastructure with enterprise and high-performance computing requirements.
His experience positions him as a trusted advisor to organizations navigating the growing complexity of modern data center and digital infrastructure environments.
Jon L. Stern
Jon brings extensive experience as a board member, chief executive, and entrepreneur, with a track record of building and commercializing technology-driven businesses across public and private markets. Most recently, he served as Board Member, CEO, and COO of CohBar, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company, where he led corporate strategy, operations, and capital markets engagement.
Earlier, Jon held senior leadership roles at Market China Inc., founded DigitalSparx, and founded Cine Coasters, Inc., which was later acquired by Liberty Media. Across these ventures, he has demonstrated strong capabilities in innovation, commercialization, and scaling emerging technologies.

Jack Vonich
Jack brings over 30 years of leadership experience across the data center industry, spanning executive management, sales leadership, and large-scale infrastructure delivery. He is best known for his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Instor Solutions, where he led the company for more than a decade, scaling it from a single Silicon Valley office into a global infrastructure integrator with operations across major U.S. data center markets and Europe.
Under Jack’s leadership, Instor delivered hundreds of megawatts of data center capacity supporting leading cloud, AI, and hyperscale operators, culminating in the successful sale of Instor to Accelevation, LLC in 2023.
Jack brings deep expertise in data center integration, go-to-market strategy, and executive team development. Today, he serves in advisory roles to data center and infrastructure companies, helping leadership teams navigate market entry, scaling, and organizational readiness in the AI era.
